What Jesus Said About Dirt
|
THE PLANTER
Jesus is the Primary Planter
Servants of the Planter are to plant
We need to know the secrets to successful planting
THE SEED - THE WORD
Contains life while appearing dead
Often ignored and scorned
Lies dormant
When planted becomes powerful
Amazing survival capabilities
THE SOIL - OUR LIVES
In spite of:
- the care of the Planter
- the power and durability of the Seed
- all seed will not grow
The difference is the soil
ROAD-SIDE SOIL
Hardened
Seed bounces off
Satan snatches seed away
ROCKY SOIL
Comes on strong
No depth
Shallow and superficial
Problem and pressures cause death
WEEDY SOIL
Appears to have received the seed
Cluttered with weeds
Conflicts of priorities - busy
Word is choked out
GOOD SOIL
Responsive tilled up
Uncluttered - weeds removed
Ready for seed - soft and receptive
Commitment
Principles
He that has ears let him hear
Do a soil analysis
Plant seeds in good soil

I waited patiently for the Lord; He turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and the mire; He set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear and put their trust in the Lord. Psalm 40:1-3
